Seven positions.
One 1L year.
Zero from job boards.
A working lab built from RN Collins’s self-reported record of 207 replies from 938 outreach messages (22.1%). Map people, write with specificity, track what happens, and improve from your own evidence.
Most networking advice fails because it is
a tactic without a discipline.
Generic outreach to a generic list produces a generic reply rate. The students who arrive at law school with networks already in place did not work harder. They worked with a system.
Illustrative baseline previously used by this page—not an independently established benchmark. Use your own tracker as the valid comparison.
207 replies divided by 938 recorded outreach messages. It describes RN’s self-reported result, not an expected user outcome.
The decision window. A practical drafting constraint used by the method, not a measured universal attention window.
The system is built on how senior practitioners
actually process unsolicited contact.
Every Aloha Framework element exists for a behavioral reason. The salutation establishes basic competence in the first second. The Time Anchor signals you are aware of their week, not just their job title. The Role Hook proves you have done thirty seconds of research that the next hundred people in their inbox have not.
The Credential Cluster gives them three reasons to take you seriously in twenty words. The Offer respects their time by asking for something specific and small. The Close confirms you have done this before.
Each part removes a reason to delete. Each part adds a reason to reply. The sequence is non-negotiable because attention is non-negotiable. The first sentence determines whether the second is read at all.
This is not a new theory of networking. It is the documented version of what already works. The intelligence is available to everyone. What separates seven positions from one is execution.
From message one,
the system builds three assets in parallel.
Each one strengthens the other. The longer the system runs, the less effort each new relationship requires.
The Network
Every connection introduces three to five more, often without being asked. By message one hundred, the network is doing the outreach for you. The platform itself becomes the introduction engine.
The Fluency
By message fifty, your writing is sharper than at message five. You learn what works for you, in your field, with your voice. The system tunes itself to the operator running it.
The Profile
Every interaction signals expertise to the next visitor. The profile stops being a resume and becomes an inbound channel. People in your target field start reaching out to you.
The Relationship-Building Lab.
Your process, made observable.
No account and no upload. Records stay in this browser unless you export them.
Platform-safe by design: this lab does not automate LinkedIn or send messages. LinkedIn’s current guidance favors fewer, thoughtful invitations; invitation restrictions can follow high volume, ignored requests, spam reports, or prohibited automation (LinkedIn Help: types of restrictions for sending invitations, checked 29 August 2026). Free-account personalization limits and character limits can change—check LinkedIn Help before sending. Following, groups, warm introductions, and legitimate email are included as alternatives.
Eight modules.
The complete operating system.
The curriculum architecture behind the working lab. These module descriptions document the larger learning system; the current public release delivers the interactive lab above.
The Mindset Shift
Why most students network at exactly the wrong moment. The cost of waiting until 2L summer. The reason the system has to start before the pressure does.
Profile Foundation
The headline that signals legibility in three seconds. The About that reads as an argument rather than a CV. The Featured section that becomes a portfolio. The Bridge Identity that connects your past to your direction.
Target Mapping
How to identify the fifty practitioners worth your first hundred messages. The filter logic. The companies, the seniority tiers, the geographic and practice constraints that produce a reachable map.
Practitioner Research
How to locate and record a legitimate public signal, distinguish direct evidence from inference, and stop when no respectful basis for outreach exists.
The Aloha Framework
The six-part message architecture used across a self-reported 22.1 percent recorded reply rate. An architecture, not a template. The progression: raw ask, to Aloha Framework structure, to practitioner-specific message. Each stage compounds the specificity of the one before.
Call Conversion
From message to meeting. How to request the call, prepare specifically, ask the question that starts the compounding chain. The thank-you note that keeps the relationship alive after the call ends.
The Standard
The daily operating discipline. Thirty minutes split morning and evening. Most students read three networking books. A useful system ends in an honest next action.
Compounding
The long game. What changes at message fifty, message one hundred, message five hundred. How the profile becomes inbound. How the network becomes self-propagating. What to do when the system starts producing offers you did not ask for.
You become an AI generalist by
running the system, not by studying AI.
Every module is executed alongside Claude or ChatGPT. By Module 8 you have done practitioner research with AI, audited a profile with AI, drafted messages with AI, and analyzed your own outreach data with AI. The fluency is a side effect of the practice.
Profile Audit
Drop your LinkedIn text in. Get a practitioner-perspective audit and three rewrite candidates calibrated to your target audience.
Practitioner Research
Paste a target profile and a piece of their work. Get three Role Hook candidates ranked by specificity, each anchored to a line of source material.
Message Drafter
Six-part Aloha Framework messages from your inputs. Three variants per send, each under the character limit, each with all six structural parts.
Follow-up Generator
Acceptance came in. Paste the thread. Get a 24-hour follow-up calibrated to that practitioner voice and the original Role Hook.
Six rules that hold
the system together.
Most networking advice fails because it is a tactic without a discipline. These six rules are the discipline. Break any one of them and the compounding stops.
Start with a plan.
Define your targets before you write a single message. Generic outreach to a generic list produces generic results.
Be specific or do not send.
Specificity gives the recipient context and gives you a falsifiable record of what you believed was relevant. If you cannot name the relevance honestly, do not send.
Send and review in small batches.
Five messages, then review. The pattern of what works for you specifically only shows up after you have data on yourself.
Save what works.
Every reply is a template seed. The strongest messages from week one become the foundation for week ten.
When a thread dies, move on.
The next ten messages matter more than the last one. The system is a pipeline, not a relationship-by-relationship grind.
Use the platform's actual rules.
LinkedIn has a search, a filter, a feed, and a connection request limit. Each one is a feature. The system runs inside the rules, not around them.
The planned learning
architecture.
A transparent roadmap. Items below describe the intended full curriculum; only the public lab is currently released.
Verbatim replies
from cold outreach.
Every message below was sent to someone who had never heard of me. The system produced the response. The marker indicates which conversations turned into positions.
Your background and your resume are fascinating and impressive. I found myself saying wow as I read each bullet.
Thank you for sending one of the more interesting resumes I have ever seen.
You have had a very interesting journey so far, and I could potentially use your help in various ways. Not only do I have many research and writing tasks, but I am also interested in your past role in regulatory compliance. If you are open to it, let us have a call to discuss possible opportunities.
We have been looking for someone with exactly your profile. Your work at the intersection of regulatory and emerging therapeutics is rare. Would you have time for a conversation this week?
Built from the inside,
during a 1L year.
I am RN Collins. JD Candidate at Northeastern Law, FlexJD Class of 2029. Before law school, I trained as a neuroscientist (MS in Anatomy and Neurobiology, Boston University School of Medicine) and spent three years in Shanghai building an early-education program in English for young children. The neuroscience training is foundational to every framework in the system, not a credential at the bottom of the page.
The self-reported 22.1 percent recorded reply rate is not presented as a volume guarantee. The method treats it as evidence from one process. The method assumes unsolicited contact receives limited attention. It therefore prioritizes accurate context, a recognizable reason for contact, and a low-burden ask. That is a design rationale, not a universal measurement of recipient behavior.
I built 2,862 professional connections in sixteen months, from Honolulu, Hawaii, while completing a full law school year, across time zones. From 938 outreach messages came 207 replies. From those replies came seven positions, zero of which came from a job board.
This is what the system produced when I ran it. Set for Life is the documented version, in eight modules, with the tooling and discipline that made it repeatable.

This release contains the working target map, message builder, outreach tracker, outcome metrics, CSV export, and JSON backup/import. The eight-module material below documents the method behind it; no paid course or cohort is currently offered.
Most people read three networking books.
A useful system ends in an honest next action.
Build a small, relevant target map. Read the work before writing. Make a low-burden ask. Record the outcome. Let your own evidence—not a generic promise—improve the next move.
